The Art Of Transformation

Before they reach our workshop, each barrel has already played a vital role in creating the complex flavors of Islay Scotch. Crafted from Oak, seasoned by time with the rich essence of whisky, these barrels embody the rugged beauty of Islay. As the whisky matures, the barrels absorb the smoky, peaty notes and the salty breeze of the Atlantic air.

Inspired by its character, we breathe new life into these barrels. The natural scars, fissures, and rustic features of the oak are preserved, and a subtle hint of its smoky fragrance still remains whithin each earphone, to honor its organic character.

With Islay Malt, we wanted to honor the barrel’s natural scars, fissures, and rustic features. Each earphone retains a subtle hint of the smoky whisky fragrance, a reminder of its origins and a celebration of its organic, unrefined beauty.

Flamed Islay Malt

Flamed Islay Malt draws inspiration from the ancient practice of charring the inside of barrels before aging the whisky, a process that not only unlocks deeper, more complex flavors in the spirit but also transforms the wood itself.

Each in-ear undergoes a delicate process where skilled artisans use a blowtorch to char the surface, creating a stunning visual texture that mirrors the burnt interior of a whisky barrel.
